Historical Indian Sugarcane Ecosystem Dataset (2010–2025)

This dataset provides a historically curated, evidence-first view of the Indian sugarcane ecosystem covering the period 2010–2025. It is structured to support agricultural policy analysis, credit risk research, ESG and MRV evaluation, traceability systems, and regulator-facing analytical dashboards. Version v2.6 (“Tri-State District-Complete Release”) delivers district-level completeness for three major sugarcane-producing states in India: Uttar Pradesh: 2017–18 to 2024–25 Maharashtra: 2018–19 to 2024–25 Karnataka: 2018–19 to 2024–25 All variables represent aggregated, non-personal indicators derived from official and statutory sources, primarily the Directorate of Sugarcane Development (DAC&FW), Government of India. These are supplemented by state statistical abstracts and officially reproduced district tables where available. The dataset follows a strict evidence-first ingestion protocol: No interpolation, backfilling, or retroactive normalization Explicit separation of observed values versus model-derived estimates Mandatory Data DNA fields for every record, including source name, source type, data collection method, confidence level, and last known publication year This dataset is intended for read-only historical analysis. It is suitable for academic research, policy evaluation, ESG disclosures, and machine-learning pipelines that require traceable and regulator-defensible historical evidence. Version v2.6 is frozen and immutable. Future releases will be issued additively as new versions without modifying this archival record.
