Oil Concentration Data for Sediment Subsamples Collected in close proximity to deep-water coral communities in lease blocks Mississippi Canyon MC 294, Gulf of Mexico, December 2010.

This dataset includes oil concentration data from 17 sediment subsamples collected from lease blocks Mississippi Canyon (MC) 294 in the Gulf of Mexico in December 2010. A description of the sample, the shape of the sample, and the concentration of oil as a percentage and by weight is provided. Additionally oil concentration data are included from 3 nematodes homogenized and run as a single sample. Samples were collected at a maximum distance of 11 km from the Macondo wellhead and were analyzed via gas chromatography for total amount of oil.
