According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in South Korea in 2023, nearly 44 percent of respondents stated that they did not want to see sponsored ads on social media platforms. Of those who were willing to view such ads, around 24.8 percent were only interested in personalized, targeted ads, while a similar share wanted to use them to find good offers or discounts.
