Analyses of soil proteolytic (apr encoding) microbes in grassland under ecological intensive and conventional intensive management across Europe. Soils from Portugal, Switzerland and France were used to set up a Terrestrial model ecosystem experiment running for 263 days in controlled conditions under rainfall variabillity. Proteolytic microbes (apr encoding microbes as well as protelytic enzymatic activity) and their associated ecosystem processes (forgage-N uptake and NO31 leaching) were analysed.
