Lactobacillus helveticus has been used as starter culture in the milk and fermentation Industries .L. helveticus strain KLDS1.8701 was previously isolated from home–make cheese in Sinkiang , China.We report the complete genome sequence of it .We have determined the complete genome sequence of KLDS1.8701,which consists of a chromosome and a plasmids and possesses a high proteolytic activity .these may reveal genes involved in dairy fermentation and its prpbiotic effects.
