Compact LNG regasification plants and fueling stations.

Natural gas distributed by pipelines is proven as a reliable source of energy. However, its usage is limited to customers, who have access to the pipeline grid. Small scale LNG market in terms of regasification plants or fuelling stations changed the situation dramatically. More than 140 LNG satellite regasification stations were delivered by Chart Ferox, a.s., since 1999. After the technology was verified at large users and the distribution systems of small LNG developed in Europe, smaller customers caught up with this technology. There are plenty of new companies investing to LNG and as result, it initiated development of skidded plants, which are easy to install with low transportation and onsite construction costs. Even though these technologies might be more expensive exworks, minimization of installation costs and civil works, as well as short time construction make them attractive solution. They are easy to relocate for to be exchanged for larger plants after the consumption will grow. They are able to cover just seasonal demand. Skidded fuelling stations and compact regasification plants cover these challenges and undoubtedly go accordingly with these trends. In terms of regasification plants, the technology is consist of a cryogenic storage tank, a vaporizer skid, temperature and pressure control, everything assembled on a frame with average flowrate up to 600 m3.h-1. For larger consumption rates, separate skid with two switchable vaporizers and a trim heater is installed in one frame. A horizontal LNG storage tank can be installed next to it. Three sizes of these plants can cover wide range of applications. For regasification compact stations has developed ATEX and non-ATEX version of control system assembled on the frame as well which requires just main power supply from customer. In terms of LNG as alternative fuel, skidded fuelling with LNG pump and LNG dispenser are a solution, which can help building alternative fuel infrastructure in Europe easily and rapidly. The system might be extended with additional high pressure pump and vaporizer for fuelling CNG vehicles. Boil-off gas utilization equipment is an optional part of the solution.
