Dynamic alterations of the intestinal microbiota of 5th-instar silkworms (Bombyx mori) inoculated with Cordyceps militaris

Cordyceps militaris is a well-known cultivable entomopathogenic fungus that can be cultivated using silkworm larvae as hosts. However, no reports have been found regarding the gut microbiota of silkworms (Bombyx mori) following C. militaris injection. The present study used Illumina 16S rRNA gene sequencing to investigate the changes over time in the intestinal microbiota of 5th-instar silkworms injected with C. militaris.
