资源简介:
Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs), originally developed for diabetes treatment, have rapidly transformed obesity management and public discourse around weight loss. While clinical studies consistently report weight loss and moderate adverse effects, little is known about how these drugs reshape users’ everyday lived experiences. This qualitative study aimed to examine the lived experiences of women who are currently using or have previously used GLP-1RAs for weight loss. We conducted in-depth semi-structured interviews with 16 Brazilian adult women with body mass index ≥ 25 kg/m². Data were analyzed using inductive conventional content analysis, complemented by narrative accounts of five exemplary cases. Five themes and three subthemes captured participants’ experiences.
