UK Occupational Classifications

UK Occupational Classifications is The Ark’s modelled occupation dataset providing occupational classification estimates at individual household / address level for over 29m UK residential addresses.

The dataset is highly accurate and is a subset of The Ark’s UK Household File including ONS survey data and other data sources. The occupation model provides a robust, consistent and statistically reliable source of occupational classifications data for the whole of mainland UK.

Each address is supplied with a percentage likelihood across 10 occupational classifications:-

Large Employers, Higher Managerial and Administrative Occupations
Higher Professional Occupations
Lower Managerial, Administrative and Professional Occupations
Intermediate Occupations
Small Employers and Own Account Workers
Lower Supervisory and Technical Occupations
Semi-routine Occupations
Routine Occupations
Never Worked
Long-term Unemployed
Full-time Students

UK Occupational Classifications can be used to understand the occupation of households across mainland UK to support decision making such as offering services appropriate to the type of occupation.

Hosted in Snowflake, UK Occupational Classifications can be easily accessed and joined to any UK address, either using your own data matching software or The Ark’s JetStream key to key match solution.
