VPRS 57 Regulations

Under the Common Schools Act (No 149), Regulations were able to be made for the conduct of the system of schools under the direction of the Board of Education.This series consists of printed copies of those regulations for 1864 and for 1870. In 1864, regulations were made with respect to the Distribution of Public Money, Inspection of Schools, the Examination and Classification of teachers, the Course of Secular Instruction, School Fees and Miscellaneous dealing with such matters as Local Committees, Books and requisites and Holidays. Appended was a copy of the Act, details of courses of study and pro forma to be used by the Board and its schools.The amended regulations of 1870 include further regulations to do with Pupil Teachers, Destitute Children and Drill and Gymnastics.The P1 consignment of this series was previously registered as VPRS 4855/P Regulations of Board of Education 1870.
