The extreme range of physical conditions in the winds of WolfRayet stars of thenitrogen sequence in terms of density, velocity and chemical composition givesmore leverage to attack the unsolved origin of Xrays from hot stars thanavailable through the more homogenous O stars. We propose to obtain EPIC spectraof 4 prominent WN stars, including two single stars and two binaries, in orderto explore both ends of the luminosity distribution.
