The Walkability Index is comprised of a number of factors that influence whether a person will walk, including land use mix, residential density, retail density, and intersection density. Higher scores represent more walkable areas.</span></p><p><span>Scores were calculated for each variable per tract, then standardized (Z-score).</span></p><p><span>The final Walkability score is the sum of all Z-scores (intersection density Z-score was weighted by a factor of two).
