Empirisierung der Literaturwissenschaft: Theorie- oder methodenzentriert

One possible means of constructing an empirical science of literature is to develop a theory of literary action(s) with a universal Claim to validity. Experience with complex and dissimilar subjects of other social sciences has taught us that the elaboration of such a 'unifying theory' does not seem to be the right way to construct a new paradigm. Instead, it leads to incoherentness in the definitions as well as in the hypotheses, to immunization against falsification and to gaps in the explanatory force. unknown unknown
