R code and data required for replicating the analysis and results of Catford et al., "Multiple mechanisms required to predict grass community composition" Included in this depository are: R functions needed to run the mechanistic model: the main function (main_function.R) plus additional functions that are required (colonisation_functions.R, competition_functions.R, dispersal_functions,R, helper_functions.R) The raw data used for the model (e026_totdata.csv, e26_treatments.txt, rstar_dat.csv, "Species longevity_2016.csv", traitda_long.csv, traits.csv, magiclist.RDA) and R code used to assemble the data (DATASET.R, get_e026_monoculture_data.R, make_biomass_data.R) Input datasets required for running the model (biomass_data.rda, e26_mono_data.rda, e26dat.rda, init_n.rda, monoculture_biomass.rda, pdarray.rda, rgr_data.rda, site_data.rda, total_biomass_data.rda, totaln_data.rda, trait_data.rda) Processed model data for use in analysis included in the manuscript (E26_modelled_results_year6.csv, files_combined.rda, non_zero_replicates_[0-11]_year6.rda, Non_zero_replicates_all_year6.rda, switches.rda) Code used to process the raw model simulations and then analysis the data - including all figures included in the main text and supplementary materials (extracting_model_results.R, output_results.R, Producing_Figure2.R, Producing_Figure3.R, Producing_Figure4.R, Producting_supplementary_figures.R) Methological details, information on each component and additional information can be found in the main manuscript: Catford JA, Graham LJ, Shepherd HER, Hauser CE, Munro NT et al., (2026) Multiple mechanisms required to predict grass community composition.
