资源简介:
This collection consists of images from a descriptive buildings record survey (level 2) by Cotswold Archaeology at Landguard Bungalow, View Point Road, Felixtowe, Suffolk, in June 2023. The principal element of Landguard Bungalow is single-phased, dating to c.1895, with a later mid-20th century extension, built c.1940. The evident variation in brick between the two phases, demonstrates the additional annex's construction during this period. The original bungalow was constructed by civil engineer Peter Schuyler Bruff, on behalf of the Harwich Harbour Conservancy Board (now the Harwich Haven Authority) as accommodation for its staff. The building was in continuous use as the warden's house, from the late-19th century up until July 1994 when the last inspector of the Harwich Haven Authority retired. During World War II, it was occupied by the military along with the rest of Landguard Point and it is during this period, the annex to the bungalow was constructed.
