Al Khudaira 2 Site, Bronze-Age Tombs, Sharjah

AL-Khudaira is an important archaeological site in the municipality of Maleha, in the Emirate of Sharjah (United Arab Emirates). It is an ancient burial area that includes more than 70 tombs on two elevations (al Khudaira 1 and al Khudaira 2) about 3 km apart. It includes tombs of diverse chronology and typology, from tumulus-shaped ones located at the summit, to foothill tombs adjacent to runoff channels, and also those located in rock shelters. This model corresponds to the central sector of al Khudaira 2. It shows five tombs located on the top of the hill, whose typology resembles the Hafit type tombs, from the Early Bronze Age (III millennium BC).
