This study aimed to investigate the microbial characteristics of dental plaque in hospital-based populations with periodontitis combined with hyperuricemia and with hyperuricemia alone. By comparing the oral microbiota across these conditions, the study sought to elucidate potential microbial alterations associated with hyperuricemia in the context of periodontal disease, thereby providing new insights into the interplay between systemic metabolic disorders and oral health.
