The dataset contains data on the distribution and types of microplastics in the upper sediment layer (5 cm) of rivers-influenced shelf of the Eastern Black Sea (Georgian EEE) collected during Doors Cruise 3 (MN256), June 2024. Sediment sampling was performed using a Van Veen Grab and a multicorer. Microplastic particles were selected by density separation and verified using Raman spectroscopy. Particle number were calculated for a 200 g dry sample.
