The Breadcrumbs dataset is a comprehensive mobility dataset created by the Distributed Object Programming Laboratory at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, with a particular focus on the annotation of points of interest (POIs). This dataset collected mobility data from 81 users over a 12-week period in the city of Lausanne using multiple mobile phone sensors including GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth. Compared with existing mobility datasets, Breadcrumbs not only provides geospatial information with high spatiotemporal resolution, but also includes users' points of interest (POIs) and their semantic tags, which is of great significance for advancing geospatial data analysis toward more refined investigations of human mobility behaviors and patterns. In addition, the dataset also contains fine-grained demographic attributes, communication logs, calendar events, and social relationship tags among participants, which are critical for applications focused on understanding the semantic behaviors of mobile individuals across various domains. The Breadcrumbs dataset aims to facilitate research on human mobility learning within the research community by providing supervised learning protocols.
