资源简介:
The National Heart Foundation carried out a representative survey in 1980 of Australians aged between 25 and 64 years living in the State capital cities, to determine the prevalence of factors thought to be associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The survey was planned and administered by a Risk Factor Prevalence Management Committee representing the Foundation, the Commonwealth Department of Health and each of the study centres.
'Risk factors' of interest were: raised blood lipid levels, raised blood pressure, cigarette smoking, being overweight, physical inactivity and psychological stress. Details of these factors as well as diet, medication and alcohol consumption were collected.
Background variables included age, sex, marital status, country of origin,
education, employment status and occupation.
