Water Main Breaks (2021)

This is a list of all confirmed water main breaks in 2021. Water mains are located underground and bring water from a source. In Syracuse's case, Skaneateles Lake - to all of the homes and buildings in the city. When a water main breaks, buildings can lose access to water, and normally the fix requires opening up the road to replace a section of pipe. Sometimes water main breaks are reported, but the issue turns out to be something else. This dataset only shows those situations where a water main break was confirmed. Data Dictionary: Label Definition Location Location written as either an intersection or an address. Date Date that the water main break was reported. Listed in MM/DD/YYY, HH:MM AM/PM format. Work order Description of the work order, typically "Main Break/Leak". FID Unique identification number given to categorize the identifier for this water main break.
