We want to explore the genome characteristics of 112 Helicobacter pylori isolates in Shanghai from individuals with different clinical outcomes, including chronic superficial gastritis, chronic atrophic gastritis, and peptic ulcer and gastric cancer, and identify the specific genetic features of Helicobacter pylori and genetic heterogeneity related to specific clinical outcomes, whenever possible establish function of these genes broadening the insight into the diversity that exists among Helicobacter pylori and their linkage to the specific gastric diseases.
