Taxonomic and functional database of epigeal arthropods across a post-fire chronosequence in the Paraná River Delta (Mast Island, Gro. Baigorria, Santa Fe)
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains the complete inventory of ground-dwelling arthropods collected during a 22-month study on Mast Island, Paraná River floodplain, Argentina. The data documents the successional response of the community following a wildfire event in July 2020. Usage Note: This dataset supports the findings presented in the manuscript: “Fire-induced divergent trajectories in wetland arthropods: taxonomic replacement and dominant ants”. Dataset Structure: The matrix includes 253 species/morphospecies, organized in the following columns. Taxonomic Hierarchy: Class, Order, and Family. Specific Identity: Species name or Morphospecies ID (RTU). Functional Traits: Trophic group (A = Ants, DET = Detritivores, HEM = Hematophages, HER = Herbivores, OMN = Omnivores, P&N = Pollen/Nectar-feeding, PAR = Parasitoids, and PRE = Predators) and Ant Functional Group: (C = Cryptic, CS = Substitute Camponotines, DD = Dominant Dolichoderins, TCS = Tropical Climate Specialists, and GM = Generalist Myrmicines). Ontogenetic Stage: Life stage at the time of capture (A = Adult, N = Nymph, or L = Larva). Abundance Data: Total individual counts partitioned by: Environment: B = Burned vs. U = Unburned/Reference. Seasonality: SPR = Spring and AUT = Autumn across the four sampling campaigns (120, 262, 473, and 671 days post-fire). Sampling Methodology: Data were obtained using standardized pitfall traps (11 cm diameter) over 1120 trap-days. Identification was performed using regional taxonomic keys and verified by specialists where possible.
