Taxon table and metadata file for Santa Monica Mountains eDNA samples (16S and plant-ITS metabarcodes sequenced)

As part of a research-intensive undergraduate microbiology course at UCLA, students collected soil samples from areas of the Santa Monica Mountains that were or were not burned during the recent Skirball Fire. DNA was
extracted using the MoBio Soil DNA Extraction kit, and the 16S and plant-ITS2 regions
were PCR amplified (using primers from Caporaso et al. 2012 and Gu et
al. 2013, respectively). The samples were sequenced on an Illumina MiSeq
and processed using the Anacapa toolkit
(https://github.com/limey-bean/Anacapa).

mimg_109_w18_taxonomyTable_PITS.txt and mimg_109_w18_taxonomyTable_16S.txt contain taxonomy data formatted as an Anacapa output file. Sample metadata are
available in mimg_109_w18_metadata.txt. These files were generated for visualizing results in the Shiny-app Ranacapa (https://gauravsk.shinyapps.io/ranacapa)
