The statistic displays the total expenditure on the hotel, restaurant and cafe industry (in Dutch: horeca) in Belgium in 2017, by sector (in million euros). As of 2017, expenditure on the hotel, restaurant and cafe industry, known as the horeca industry within Belgium, totaled roughly 14,000 million euros. Consumer spending on restaurants and bistros far exceeded expenditure on bars, overnight stays and leisure. In 2017 consumers spent roughly 8,300 million euros on the restaurant and bistro sector whilst the leisure at sports sector accounted for just over 500 million euros in consumer spending.
