The Variation of Routine Book was used as a log of occasions on which the normal routine of the school had been changed. The record might be kept in a ledger or exercise book, and recorded the date of the variation, its duration, and the reason for the variation. The most common occasions for variation were school excursions and sports carnivals.The series from Glenbawn Dam Public School consists at present of a single volume, a small exercise book, in which are recorded variations of routine during the years 1963 – 1966. Entries in this volume are confined to the first two pages. The volume has been initialled by the Inspector of Schools as having been viewed on his visits to the school in 1965 and 1966.
