Southwestern Atlantic reefs (Brazilian Province) occur along a broad latitudinal range (~5°N-27°S) and under varied environmental conditions. We provide here the database (reef benthic coverage) used by Santana et al. "Turbidity shapes shallow Southwestern Atlantic benthic reef communities" (Marine Environmental Research, in press). The data encompasses the four Brazilian oceanic islands and the coast (139 sites distributed between 0°55’N - 27°00’S) and is composed by a combination of location and depth.
