Alternative splicing is an essential mechanism that confers transcriptomic and proteomic diversity; thus, the identification of alternatively spliced isoforms is necessary for an in-depth understanding of biological function. However, alternatively spliced isoforms remained largely unknown in the inner ear. Our manuscript described the use of single-cell isoform RNA sequencing (ScISOr-seq) to characterize alternatively spliced isoforms in the inner ear and their impact on auditory function in mice.
