Underground Hydrology of Potter Cove, King George Island, Antarctica

This project, which began in 2002 and is scheduled for completion in
2004, involves the study of both above and below surface hydrological
systems on Potter Cove, King George Island, Antarctica. The study
evaluates the impacts of local human activity on the hydrodynamics and
water quality of these systems. The goal is to identify environmental
risks and disturbances in order to create a conceptual model for
monitoring the quality and evolution of these hydrological systems in
future years.

Este Proyecto a realizarse durante los anos 2002 al 2004 se estudiara
la caracterizacion hidrodinamica e hidroquimica de los sistemas
hidricos superficial y subterraneo de caleta Potter, evaluando las
posible perturbations y riesgos de la actividad antropica local sobre
los mismos, identificando las principales fuentes de perturbacion y
riesgo y elaborando un modelo conceptual que permita monitorear la
evolucion de la calidad del sistema en los proximos anos.
