This article aims at presenting functional and lexicographical study focused on three pairs of Spanish and Italian polysemic idioms. In order to achieve this purpose, we have applied to the idioms considered the functional equivalence criterion (Mellado Blanco 2015) and the lexicographical proposal illustrated in Loncar, Dal Maso (2018). As a result, in the first part of this essay we describe the idioms, the lexicographical and online data consulted and the functional equivalence criterion. Secondly, we propose lexicographical records for an online bilingual bidirectional phraseological dictionary and some final remarks.
