Biomarker and histopathology data for experimental testicular torsion versus epididymo-orchitis in a rat model
收藏资源简介:
Animal-level dataset and analysis code supporting the manuscript "Serum biomarkers for the time-critical differentiation of testicular torsion from epididymo-orchitis in acute scrotum: an experimental proof-of-concept study" (submitted to World Journal of Emergency Medicine). Forty male Albino-Wistar rats (8-12 weeks, 250-350 g) were allocated to five groups (n=8 each): 2-, 6- and 24-hour testicular torsion, epididymo-orchitis (induced by intratesticular uropathogenic Escherichia coli), and sham control. The package contains serum and testicular-tissue biomarker values, per-animal histopathology scores, and the Python code that reproduces the post hoc ROC/AUC analyses (bootstrap 95% confidence intervals, Youden cut-offs, sensitivity/specificity, and Holm correction). Ethics approval: Kirikkale University Local Ethics Committee for Animal Experiments, no. 2021/05-23 (26 May 2021). See README.md for the data dictionary, units, and reproduction instructions.
