Number of police complaint cases in England and Wales 2001-2023

In 2022/23, there were 81,142 police complaint cases recorded in England and Wales, compared with 75,020 in the previous year. Prior to 2020/21 the year with the most police complaints was 2014/15, when there were 37,105 complaints.
