In order to study the evolution of adaptations to life in constant darkness, we performed a genome-wide transcriptomic analysis of eyes comparing surface and cave species in the genus Sinocyclocheilus. De novo transcriptome assemblies were developed for surface and cave species and Sinocyclocheilus contigs were annotated with Gene Ontology.
