Dataset: Final results of the implementation of the Carbon Measurement Protocol in Mangrove Ecosystems in the Districts of Remedios, San Félix and San Lorenzo

This dataset contains the findings of a carbon stock inventory conducted in 2016 in support of a project dedicated to the protection of carbon reserves and sinks in the mangroves and protected areas of Panama, which is part of the International Initiative for Climate Protection. The aim of this project was to measure and quantify carbon stocks at the ecosystem level in the mangroves of the Remedios San Félix and San Lorenzo districts of the Chiriquí Province. Fieldwork was carried out across 22 different sites, and 123 plots, where vegetation was surveyed, and soils were sampled to provide estimates of total ecosystem carbon stock.
