Results of 3-D modelling of the ground electric field in Fennoscandia during the Carrington geomagnetic storm on September 2, 1859, based on the simulation of Blake et al. (2021).
File Electric_field_CARR_Scenario1_2025.hdf (in hdf5 format) contains horizontal electric field components Ex and Ey (in mV/km) corresponding to almost 12 hours (04:10-15:45 UT) and latitude and longitude grids corresponding to Ex and Ey arrays. Ex and Ey are 691x567x543 arrays (temporal resolution is 60 s). Latitude and Longitude are 567x543 arrays. All values are in single-precision floating-point format. Electric field values were obtained with the use of the conductivity-based inducing source following Marshalko et al. (2023).
