This Independent Study examines the feasibility of expanding OppTuneX, an AI-driven digital transformation startup, into Thailand’s food and beverage (F&B) small and medium enterprise (SME) market. SMEs form the backbone of Thailand’s economy, yet a large proportion remain underserved by advanced digital and artificial intelligence solutions due to high costs, limited local customization, and low digital confidence. At the same time, Thailand’s national digital transformation agenda, growing AI infrastructure investment, and government incentives for SME digital adoption present a timely market opportunity.The study adopts a mixed-methods research approach, combining qualitative interviews and quantitative survey data collected from 50 F&B SME operators, supplemented by secondary data from government reports, industry analyses, and academic literature. External environment assessment tools, including PESTEL analysis, industry structure analysis, and competitor mapping, are applied to evaluate market conditions, while SWOT analysis and internal capability assessment are used to assess OppTuneX’s strategic readiness.Findings indicate strong demand among F&B SMEs for affordable, modular, and easy-to-use AI solutions, particularly in demand forecasting, inventory management, customer engagement, and operational automation. However, adoption barriers persist, including skepticism toward AI return on investment, limited digital literacy, and sensitivity to pricing. These challenges highlight the importance of localized onboarding, multilingual support, and service-oriented customer success models.Based on the research findings, the study proposes a subscription-based SaaS business model tailored to F&B SMEs, supported by a phased market entry strategy beginning in Bangkok and expanding through diaspora networks and regional SME clusters. A detailed marketing, operational, and financial plan is developed, including break-even analysis, scenario forecasting, and sensitivity testing. Financial projections suggest that the business becomes viable at approximately 200 active clients within two years, with strong profitability potential under moderate growth assumptions.The study concludes that OppTuneX’s expansion into Thailand’s F&B SME sector is strategically and financially feasible, provided that the company maintains a focused market scope, emphasizes customer education and service quality, and leverages policy tailwinds and ecosystem partnerships. This Independent Study serves as a practical blueprint for OppTuneX’s market entry and contributes to broader discussions on AI adoption among SMEs in emerging Southeast Asian economies.
