Transcriptomic response to 24-hour food deprivation in four hypothalamic nuclei

The hypothalamus has an established role in the central control of energy homeostasis. In this study, we examine the gene expression changes in four discrete hypothalamic nuclei across 24-hour food deprived versus ad libitum fed mice. Using wild-type fed or 24-hour fasted male mice, we laser-capture microdissected four hypothalamic nuclei for RNA sequencing: the ventromedial hypothalamus (VMH), arcuate nucleus (ARC), dorsomedial hypothalamus (DMH) and paraventricular nucleus (PVN).
下丘脑(hypothalamus)在能量稳态的中枢调控中具有已被证实的重要作用。本研究针对24小时禁食与自由采食小鼠的四个独立下丘脑核团,分析其基因表达变化。研究中,我们使用野生型自由采食或24小时禁食的雄性小鼠,通过激光捕获显微切割(laser-capture microdissection)获取上述四个下丘脑核团的样本用于RNA测序:腹内侧下丘脑(ventromedial hypothalamus, VMH)、弓状核(arcuate nucleus, ARC)、背内侧下丘脑(dorsomedial hypothalamus, DMH)以及室旁核(paraventricular nucleus, PVN)。
