HRWP Percent Impervious Cover Reach Contributing Area

Habitat quality was measured using the percentage of land cover that is classified as impervious, where more impervious cover is associated with lower habitat quality. Impervious cover was calculated for the baseline and current period at the watershed, subwatershed, catchment, and RCA scales using a desktop GIS analysis. To do so, land use types for 2002, 2012 and 2020 were given an overall impervious value calculated by summarizing area as a function of the runoff coefficient (here referred to as the Directly Connected Impervious Cover/Area).
