Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler velocity data from 2024 autonomous underwater glider surveys in the Yucatán Channel
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains depth-resolved absolute horizontal ocean current velocity profiles derived from a Nortek AD2CP acoustic Doppler current profiler mounted on the Teledyne Webb Research Slocum glider ru38, deployed in the Yucatán Channel during the Understanding Gulf Ocean Systems (UGOS) program from 28 January to 4 April 2024. Eastward (u) and northward (v) velocity components are provided on a regular 10 m depth grid (bin centers 5–995 m) for 365 glider profiles. Absolute velocities were obtained by a least-squares inversion of the AD2CP measurements — motion correction using glider attitude and speed, magnetic-variation correction (IGRF model), and conversion from beam to Earth coordinates — following the methodology of Todd et al. (2017). Processing used the open-source Slocum-AD2CP package (Gradone & Miles, 2022; doi:10.5281/zenodo.7416126).
