The paleogeographic maps included in this dataset cover the period from the present to 540 million years ago, with a temporal resolution of approximately 1 million years. This dataset is derived from the paleogeographic maps reconstructed by Scotese et al., which originally had a temporal resolution of about 5 million years. These higher-resolution maps were generated using methods such as optical flow and linear interpolation.
