Characterization of novel antimicrobial compounds from endophytic bacteria as precondition for developing improved biocontrol agents. Novel, endophytic Bacillus strains with improved antagonistic action towards plant pathogens were isolated from plant tissues and comprehensively characterized. In collaboration with the partner from Vietnam, biocontrol prototypes will be developed, allowing reduction of chemical pesticides in agriculture.
