WhiB6 is required for the secretion-dependent regulation of ESX-1 substrates in pathogenic mycobacteria

These data show that WhiB6 is required for the secretion-dependent regulation of ESX-1 substrates and ESX-1 substrates are regulated independently from the structural components, both during infection and as a result of active secretion. RNA expression profiles of Mycobacterium tuberculosis Wild-type and ESX1 mutant, Mycobacterium marinum Wild Type and ESX1 mutant was generated and compared. WhiB6 was then further selected as the target gene which has been knocked out and the transcriptome data was also generated in this study.
