The strain Desmodus endogenous retrovirus QR09 (DrERV) was obtained from tissue bat sample collected from Desmodus rotundus in the Brazilian rain forest. The complete genome was sequenced using next-generation sequencing strategy. The full-length genome of the QR09 DrERV was 8256 nt and showed high similarity with other DrEVS.
