资源简介:
Submission of information on national greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
is an important commitment under the United Nations Framework Convention
on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and, for Parties to the Kyoto Protocol.
In this publication, Key GHG Data, the United Nations Climate Change
secretariat confirms that developed countries, taken as a group,
have achieved sizable emission reductions. Compared to the 1990 levels, overall
greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of these countries were down 5.9% in 2003. But
the secretariat warns that further efforts are required to sustain
these reductions and to cut the emissions further.
In this publication, is the first UNFCCC publication covering all GHG
data officially submitted by developed and developing countries under
the Climate Change Convention. The publication includes data on
greenhouse gas emissions from 40 developed and 121 developing
countries, presented in a reader-friendly form.
This publication covers the following GHGs: carbon dioxide (CO2),
methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs),
perfluorocarbons (PFCs) and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6). Data on HFCs,
PFCs and SF6 (taken together) are presented for Annex I Parties
only. GHG totals are presented in of CO2, CH4, N2O, HFCs, PFCs and SF6
weighed with the corresponding values of the global warming potential
(GWP).
