资源简介:

Overview This Feature Service provides detailed geographic data related to the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) released on December 31, 2019. These updated flood maps are expected to replace substantial portions of the previous 2014 maps for Broward County, Florida. Feature Layers FEMA Combined Preliminary: This layer features comprehensive flood zone classifications and changes derived from a coastal flooding study conducted by FEMA between 2014 and 2019. It includes spatial data on flood zones before and after the study, delineating newly assessed flood risks and areas where flood insurance requirements and rates may change. The data encompasses flood zone types, base flood elevations, insurance requirements, and population and structure impact estimates. Geographic Coverage The service covers Broward County within the spatial reference system EPSG:102658. It focuses specifically on coastal and inland areas affected by tidal flooding, including regions east and west of Interstate 95, particularly in southern portions of the county. Use Cases Assessment of changes in flood risk zones and insurance implications for property owners. Support for municipal floodplain management and planning activities. Community outreach to inform residents about updated flood risks and insurance requirements. Integration with GIS applications to analyze flood zone modifications and support emergency management. Data Source and Updates The data originates from FEMA's official coastal flooding study and preliminary flood map release from late 2019. The data is maintained for use in understanding evolving flood risks and preparing for insurance and regulatory changes once the maps are adopted officially.
