Multiple Drug-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Bacterial Community of Diabetic Foot Ulcer Origin: A Culturomic and Metagenomic Study

The study addresses a clinically significant and globally relevant issue: multidrug resistance (MDR) in diabetic foot ulcers (DFU), a major public health and hospital-acquired infection concern. The study employs both culturomic (culture-dependent) and metagenomic (culture-independent) methods, providing a comprehensive view of the DFU microbial community. The dataset generated novel baseline data on the DFU-associated microbial diversity and antimicrobial resistance profiles in the region (Tamil Nadu).
