Sequencing of White-Nose Syndrome Pathogen

White-Nose Syndrome is an ongoing fungal epizootic caused by epidermal infections of the fungus, Pseudogymnoascus destructans (P. destructans), affecting multiple bat species in North America and is now considered the deadliest disease affecting any non-human mammal species in history. We sequenced P. destructans samples from Canadian hibernacula to test genetic relationships between clonal isolates and to identify the population structure of this pathogen.
