RNA sequencing of liverwort Marchantia polymorpha wild type and gun1 mutant spores grown in the presence or absence of spectinomycin

Inhibition of plastid translation during chloroplast development leads to GENOMES UNCOUPLED1 (GUN1) dependent transcriptional repression of photosynthesis-associated nuclear encoded genes in Arabidopsis thaliana. To check if this response is conserved in the liverwort Marchantia polymorpha we prepared transcriptomes of germinating wild type and Mpgun1 mutant spores grown in the presence or absence of spectinomycin, an inhibitor of plastid translation.
