Ecological Shifts in Sedimentary Microbiota in Urban Canals

To demonstrate the molecular basis of successions in sedimentary microbial communities and present evidence of surface water quality is directly influenced by sedimentary microbial processes, a metatranscriptomics study was designed.The understanding of the dynamics of microbial communities and their functions, developed in this study will further improve and adjust the water resources planning, especially in the tropical cities, where rain-events are frequent and microbial succession cycles are of only a few weeks.
