Molinia Heathlands: LSVI data 2017-2023

The Locale Staat van Instandhouding (LSVI) measurement network is set up by the Flemish Research Institute for Nature and Forest (INBO) and operational since 2014 (more info: https://www.vlaanderen.be/inbo/natura-2000-andere-wetenschappelijke-instrumenten-voor-beleid-en-beheer/lokale-staat-van-instandhouding/). The plots in the LSVI network were selected through a spatially balanced sampling design over all known habitats in Flanders, and consists of square plots of 3 by 3 meters. This dataset shared here contains only the plots of this network located in heathland habitats. The Molinia coverage within the selected plots was estimated using the Londo decimal scale for relevés of permanent quadrats. From this network, only the plots measured from 2017 to 2023 were used. We refer to this dataset as the MNAE dataset, containing 401 plots. This dataset is documented in the Data Management Plan for GEO.INFORMED use case 7 - Fire Hazard (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.15350503)
